"Be braver, stronger, smarter” … a short article by Peter Mayer (Managing Partner)

As Winnie the Pooh once said to Piglet . . .

“You’re braver than you believe,
stronger than you seem
and smarter than you think”

While Winnie’s transformational change acumen is questionable, his words of affirmation might be as relevant in the boardroom as they are in 100 Acre Wood.

Assessing confidence, identifying pivot points and islands of stability, recognising skills and capabilities are the cornerstones of Intelligent Change.

When you’re submerged in the forest it can sometimes be hard to see the wood for the trees, and a fresh perspective can be exactly what’s needed.

  • Understanding what needs to be done to ensure a successful transformation is one thing, actually doing it at every stage and at all levels of the team can be an entirely different challenge.

  • Typically large change initiatives are approached by dividing into smaller more manageable parts with individual teams focusing on their own objectives and responsibilities.

  • Collectively it becomes hard to spot what’s going on across the piece.

  • It needs some bravery and strength to look across the whole programme landscape, to ensure everyone is pulling in the same direction.

  • Its a smart move.
